Mind Body Spirit

Good health is not just about our physical body, or diet and exercise. When trying to achieve overall wellness, we must nurture our whole self which is comprised of the mind, body, and spirit. The body is just that, our physical body in which we experience life through our senses. The mind is our brain and thoughts, and is what drives our physical body. The spirit is the core of who we are, our values, beliefs, emotions, fears, passions, etc. These three things are interconnected and affect each other greatly. For example, when we feel pain our body may tense up, negative thoughts flood our brain and the feeling of fear is present. There are several things we can do to keep our mind, body, and spirit in balance.


- Read and learn new things

- Meditate

- Practice Yoga

- Spend time outside

- Eat more plant based foods

- Avoid sitting for long periods of time

- Volunteer

- Be kind

- Do things that are meaningful

- Listen to music

- Take time each day to be grateful
