Weight loss should occur when you eat fewer calories than you burn.  Increasing physical activity while limiting your calories will increase your rate of weight loss. Goal of weight loss should be for a healthy weight, NOT what you see on TV, in magazines, ect.

Eat LESS Calories needed to maintain weight = Weight Loss

Eat MORE Calories needed to maintain weight = Weight Gain

Eat SAME Calories needed to maintain weight = Same Weight

  • Most moderately active women burn about 2,000 calories a day.

  • Most moderately active men burn about 2,500-3,000 calories a day
    Moderately active means a lifestyle that includes physical activity equivalent to walking about 1.5 to 3 miles 
    per day at 3 to 4 miles per hour, in addition to the light physical activity associated with typical day-to-day life.
